This picture is of two houses custom built by members of the same family. The red one is a home here in town that was made for a girl I went to school with. Both show amazing attention to period details and have been well cared for through the years. Definitely a New England flair.

The Historical Society Exhibit

I have been MIA here for a bit but finally found a few minutes to share some pictures. This first one is of three dolls I made posing next to the house they all share with Kona-the Bernese Mountain dog and Sam-the Beagle. Lots of interest in the exhibit with some even on a waiting list for room to display. One lady in town had so many miniatures that they filled an 8' x 12' display case and then some.

It's Wednesday already?!

Don't know where time has been flying to these days. Easter-here a couple days ago-gone. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday up and out of bed, coffee, walk dog, breakfast, walk dog again, make lunch, work, home, walk dog, evening coffee, some kind of household chore, dinner, walk dog, me time?, dessert, walk dog, bed. Typical. I am also preparing to make ready my 17 year old son for graduation in 2 months and college in the fall. A monumental undertaking. Family will all be here and I'm thinking maybe I should plan something?
I mentioned before about introducing a fellow named Paul made from polymer clay. His story goes something like this-I was contacted to do a special request project to make a 1:12 scale doll from clay. The parameters were only to make it look like a particular person. After a crash course in doll making techniques I began, persisted, and finally finished the request. Unfortunately my 2 months of hard work did not pay off monetarily speaking because the person who wanted this item decided in the end that the price was too high. So now I have this doll made to look like her boyfriend named Paul. Someday I think it would be a real hoot to write a story/cartoon about him and film it or make into a picture book. What do you think?

I'm so torn!

As much as I love the first real day of getting down and dirty outside in my gardens I know it means less time for mini making. It's such a rejuvenation though because ideas for new projects seem endless now. I didn't even mind my chocolate lab Skidder racing around tearing up the grass. Which normally makes me nuts. Not today.
The Historical Society exhibit starts in two weeks. Trying to get lamp plugs fixed so I can turn the lights on. And then just a few last minute rearrangements and I'll be ready.
Paul's creepy cohorts are a trio of Halloween dolls. They will be introducing themselves soon. In the meantime, here is a picture of my beloved and long departed cat named Bird inside one of the first dollhouses I made.

And the sun did indeed make an appearance this afternoon just as I was beginning to forget what it felt like. The exhibit hall at the Historical Society is filling up fast with all manner of dollhouses, miniatures and accessories. Glad I got my bohemoth in last weekend. Still trying to research what SEO really means for me. Like you, I'm sure, my time is at a serious premium and this is all greek to me. Thinking about skipping Easter dinner to have a selfish day in the glorious sunshine-where else? The garden of course. Here is a cute little scene from my dollhouse miniature garden. Rain, rain go the ******away

It's Monday and it's raining again. I'm talking biblical amounts here. Depending on the weather cast 6-8" maybe a pocket or two of 10". Oh sump pump don't fail me now. But anyway...Here is a look at my dollhouse. I'm impressed. I started the project over ten years ago and since finishing unfortunately it's just been sitting around collecting dust. I have now a renewed vigor to start collecting and making items to fill it up.
I have always thought that you needed some kind of catchy idea to blog. A cause, a view, a monkey on your back, a bee in your bonnet, a wrench in your gears, a rain on your parade or whatever. I think my stick is that blogging is a crutch. One on which I am about to be leaning quite heavily. Just as an experiment of course. I should be in my crafting corner creating product and tweaking my construction methods. Or cleaning, or doing laundry, or attending to the mounting paperwork of my real job.

What a fine morning

Up early for a romp in the conservation land which is just a quick step from my door. Headed down to the Historical Society to set up my dollhouse display before the rains begin again. This is important because the house is so big the only way to get it there is in the bed of our F350.
